SOLOGRID – Grid integration of electromobility and photovoltaic systems

SoloGrid has proven, that GridSense achieves the same results as a net gain of twice the wire cross section. Everybody is talking about the Energy Strategy 2050. Alongside the abandonment of nuclear energy, decarbonization, i.e. the prevention of CO2 emissions, is a No. 1 issue. The changes involved in this affect the power distribution systems enormously. Four innovative companies – Alpiq, AED, Adaptricity and Landis+Gyr – had come together in the SoloGrid project in order to find out how system operators could manage the increase in local power generation and the emergence of electric mobility without having to extend the distribution networks. SoloGrid was backed by the Canton of Solothurn as well as the Swiss Federal Office of Energy (SFOE) as part of the beacon program. The project ended in December 2017.
